Significance of performing Bhoomi Puja

The bhoomi puja is very important and very much necessary for those, who are proceeding forward to build a new house or going to start the cultivation of the season. The puja will bring the blessings of the Mother Earth and ensure a good result by eliminating the negativities.

The bhoomi pujan ceremony is conducted in strict conformance to vastu  shastra. By performing this puja, one can appease the positive energies and natural elements surrounding the site. Bhoomi are the mother of all that exists.

 When we want to raise a building or till the land for agriculture we bring a change in mother earth. We seek permission and forgiveness for our actions that disturb the equilibrium of mother earth.  A dedicated worshipping and performance of the Bhoomi Puja will reduce all the negativities from the land and space and you will be able to succeed in what you do. We chant the Veda Sutras to nullify any bad effects and to bring peace and prosperity.

Time to performing puja

Be careful while selecting the time for puja. There are many positive and negative factors associated with the favorable time of bhoomi puja.One should avoid the adhik maas, the zero month, lunar month and sunset. The favorable bhoomi pujan should not fall on the Hadpaksha, divaskarma, mourning period, shraadh paksh.

PREPARATION BEFORE THE BHOOMI POOJA:--

Clean the site:

Divide the site into a 9 x 9 Grid:

Dig a square hole in the North East corner

Prepare the base

Prepare 5 stones (bricks, stone)

Keep a kalash ready

Perform a ceremony

Bhoomi Pooja and Havan

1. Ganpati Sthapana.

2. Bhoomi Pujan and Sankalpam

3. Navgrah Shanti Pooja

4. Havan or fire ritual
