Shri Satyanarayan Puja is performed to seek blessing of God Narayan which is one of the forms of Lord Vishnu. The Lord in this form is considered an embodiment of truth.
The ritual worship of Lord Vishnu or Sri Satyanarayan Puja is generally performed on a full moon day or Purnima of every month or on any special occasion such as achieving a milestone or fulfilling a wish, as a special thanksgiving to the Godhead of the Hindu Trinity.
Satya means “truth” and Narayana means “The highest being” so Satyanarayan means “The highest being who is an embodiment of Truth”.
